How it works
Move-to-store with no double-handling.
The whole point of a pod is that your belongings are touched twice — loaded once, unloaded once — instead of four times. No ute hire to a self-storage yard, no wheeling boxes down a corridor to a unit, no repacking.

We collect
Same crew, same truck as a normal move. We blanket-wrap the furniture and load straight into the pod at your door, then note down what went in.

We store
The sealed pod goes to our secure Sydney warehouse — indoors, CCTV, restricted access, climate protected. It stays closed the whole time it’s with us.

We redeliver
Give us 48 hours’ notice and the pod lands at your new address. The same crew unloads, unwraps and sets the heavy pieces back where you want them.

What it costs
Move-and-store, priced honestly.
Storage is two things billed separately: the monthly pod fee, and the crew time to collect and later redeliver. Collection runs at the normal hourly rate with a 3-hour minimum, plus a call-out fee based on the distance between your address and our warehouse. Every figure is on the quote before you book — nothing lands for the first time on the invoice.

How much does Sydney storage cost with Hartmann?
Storage pods are from $199/month + GST for a 10 cubic metre pod — roughly the contents of a 1–2 bedroom apartment. Collection and redelivery are billed separately at the normal hourly crew rate (from $150/hr + GST, 3-hour minimum), plus a call-out fee based on the distance to and from our warehouse. You see every figure on the quote before you book.
What is 10 cubic metres in real terms?
Roughly the contents of a 1-bedroom or small 2-bedroom apartment — sofa, bed, fridge, dining set and 20–30 boxes. If you have more, we allocate a second pod. We size it with you on the walk-through so you’re not paying for a pod of empty space.
Is my pod sealed, or is my stuff on shared shelving?
Sealed. Your belongings go into a dedicated 10m³ pod at your door and that pod stays closed until redelivery. Nothing is unpacked onto shared racks and nothing of anyone else’s goes in with yours.
Can I access my things while they’re in storage?
Yes, with 48 hours’ notice. We bring your pod down from the stack so you can open it, retrieve what you need, and we re-seal it. That suits occasional access — if you need to get in weekly, a self-storage unit you hold a key to is the better fit, and we’ll tell you so.
Is there a minimum storage term?
One calendar month minimum, then month-to-month. Most clients are with us one to three months while a settlement, renovation or trip resolves. Cancel with 30 days’ notice.
How long can you store my belongings?
Indefinitely. We have clients who’ve been in storage for years between postings. Billing is monthly, and you cancel when you’re ready with 30 days’ notice.
Do you move my belongings into storage, or do I have to?
We do. The normal move-day crew loads straight into the pod at your address, we transport it to the warehouse, and it stays sealed until redelivery. No trip to a self-storage place, no double-handling, no ute hire.
Are my belongings insured while in storage?
Public liability and goods-in-transit insurance apply while we’re collecting and redelivering. Hartmann Removals carries $20 million public liability cover. For long-term contents cover while items sit in the warehouse, ask us on the quote call and we’ll tell you exactly what’s covered and where a separate contents policy makes sense.
