The name
Why we chose “Hartmann.”
Hartmann is German for “strong man.” In the removalist market, that’s a description of the job, not a marketing line. Moving your home is the one day everything you own is on the back of a truck at the same time. It wants strength and it wants precision — the two qualities the word carries in equal measure.
We named the business for what we wanted it to feel like from the customer’s side: a crew that arrives when they said they would, with a truck that fits, and leaves your new address without a scratch on the floor or a dent on the skirting.
Every detail in this business — the hourly rates, the published crew sizes, the blanket wrap on every job, the hourly and hours range confirmed before you book — is a consequence of that name.
How we work
Four things we do differently.

Fixed crew, matched truck
The same crew that loads your home is the crew that unloads it. No mid-day swaps, no "you’ll meet the other team at the destination." The truck is sized to the home, not to whatever was free.

Hourly, with the number on the quote
We publish starting rates of $150, $210, $240 and $300 per hour + GST for 2-mover, 3-mover, 3-mover + big-truck, and 4-mover + big-truck crews. Your quote shows the hourly plus an estimated hours range specific to your move. No half-hourly rounding, no "oh, and the call-out fee."

Wrapped before it moves
Every timber, leather or upholstered piece gets blanket-wrapped in the room before it gets carried out. Floor runners down at both ends before anything comes in.

Insured, on paper
$20 million public liability plus goods-in-transit insurance on every move. Certificate of currency available before move day if your building or office manager asks for it.
