Right-sized crew

Pick the crew that fits the house.

The right crew size usually saves more than it costs. Three movers finish a 3-bedroom home in the time two movers take to finish two, for roughly the same bill. See our crew-size decision guide for the full breakdown.

House move FAQ

Questions Sydney families actually ask.

How much does a house move cost in Sydney?

A 3-bedroom Sydney house move typically runs $1,200–$2,000 + GST with three movers and a truck. 4-bedroom homes run $2,100–$3,000 + GST with four movers. Federation cottages without stairs sit at the low end; townhouses with internal stairs or 4-bed homes with full garages push toward the top. All rates published — no surprises on the day.

How long does a 3-bedroom house move take?

Six to nine hours with three movers is the typical range for a 3-bedroom Sydney house — load, drive, unload. Internal stairs add 60–90 minutes. A full garage adds 30–60 minutes. 7am weekday start is consistently the fastest slot; cross-bridge moves should always start early to bank drive time before peak.

How many movers do I need for a 4-bedroom house?

Four movers, almost always. Three movers on a 4-bed home stretch to 12–14 hours, which pushes past a working day and raises damage risk in the last hour. Four movers at $300/hr + GST finish in 7–10 hours and come in at or below the three-mover total for the same work.

Do you move garages, sheds and backyards as well?

Yes — at the same hourly rate. A full garage adds 30–60 minutes; a shed with 10+ items adds another 20–30. Backyard furniture, BBQs, bikes, and tool collections are part of a standard house move. Tell us roughly what is in the garage and shed on the quote so the estimated hours range reflects it.

Do you take beds and furniture apart?

Yes, standard beds, dining tables, shelving, and most flat-pack furniture. We bring the tools. For wall-mounted items (TVs, shelves) we unmount but do not re-mount — that is usually a trade job and outside our insurance cover.

Can you move a 4-bedroom house in one day?

Yes, with four movers. A typical 4-bed Sydney house move finishes in 7–10 hours starting at 7–8am. The exceptions are 5-bed homes or double-storey family homes with substantial garages — those often split across two days for less total cost and fresher crew on day two.

Do you charge extra for stairs in a house?

No stair surcharge. Internal stairs in a townhouse or double-storey home add to the hourly on the clock — about 10–15% per flight — but the rate stays the same. Operators charging a separate "stair fee" on top of an hourly are double-charging.

Can you move on a weekend?

Saturdays yes — Sundays are closed by default, though we can arrange a Sunday crew as a quoted after-hours job. Saturday rates may vary slightly from weekday; we confirm the exact hourly on your quote. Office hours are mon–fri 8am–5pm and sat 9am–4pm; closed Sundays.

Are you insured if something gets damaged?

Every house move is covered by $20 million of public liability insurance plus goods-in-transit insurance as standard. Certificate of currency available on request. If something is damaged in our care, we handle it. No separate booking fee, no insurance upsell.
