Two movers, 3–6 hours. Usually the 3-hour minimum with easy access; 5–6 hours if the lift is booked for a 90-minute window and we're stair-carrying for the rest.

Lift booked, strata notified

You submit the strata move application at origin and destination buildings. We send certificates of currency if requested. Parking permits booked if needed.

02 · 7 days out

Access confirmed in writing

Building managers confirm lift times, dock access, after-hours codes. We confirm the crew size, arrival window and hourly rate with you by email.

03 · Move day morning

Floor protection, dock loaded

Crew arrives on the 30-minute window confirmed the night before. Floor runners down in corridors, lift padded if building provides pads, dock opened by building manager.

04 · At the new place

Same crew, same truck, placed

Furniture placed where you want it, beds reassembled, boxes in the rooms they're labelled for. Final walk-through, hand-back of lift key if applicable, invoice on completion.

Questions Sydney apartment movers actually ask.

How far in advance should I book the lift for a Sydney apartment move?

Two to three weeks for most Sydney strata buildings. Four weeks for Barangaroo, CBD, Bondi Junction, Chatswood and North Sydney towers during peak season (October–February). The lift booking is the constraint on the move date — book it before you lock in the removalist, not after.

Do you handle the strata paperwork for me?

We provide the certificate of currency (insurance) and ABN details that strata needs. You submit the move application and the bond to building management — that has to come from the resident, not us. We help if your building is one we move out of regularly and we know the specific form.

What if my apartment building has no lift?

Walk-up apartments are fine. We send an extra mover for buildings over two storeys or long stair flights — the extra crew cost is offset by the faster finish. Third-floor walk-up with two movers takes about the same total as a ground-floor move with three movers.

Can you move same-day from a Sydney apartment?

Sometimes, but the strata lift booking is usually the blocker — most buildings need 48–72 hours notice. If your building has a walk-up entrance or an open dock (no booking required), same-day is on the table. Call before 10am to check availability.

How much does a Sydney apartment move cost?

A studio or one-bedroom apartment is usually $450–$900 total with two movers at $150/hr + GST (3–6 hours). A two-bedroom apartment runs $600–$1,200 depending on access. Three-bedroom apartments in high-rise towers typically need three movers at $210/hr + GST — $1,000–$1,600 total.

Do you charge extra for high floors?

No surcharge. Floor height affects how long the lift takes (a 20th-floor lift journey adds 30 seconds per trip, which stacks up over 40 trips), and we build that into the estimated hours on the quote. The hourly rate is the same whether you are on floor 2 or floor 40.

Do I need a council parking permit for the truck?

Only if the nearest legal loading zone is more than about 30 metres from the building entrance. City of Sydney, Waverley, Randwick, Inner West, North Sydney and Northern Beaches councils all issue short-term commercial vehicle permits — usually $40–$120, booked 7–10 days ahead. We flag this on the quote if your address needs one.

What if the building lift is smaller than standard?

Most Sydney strata lifts are 2.1 metres deep — tall items (most wardrobes, mirrors, some canvas artworks) have to stand on end or go through the stairwell. For properties with small lifts we bring a stair-carry team and allow extra time for the big pieces. Tell us the lift dimensions on the quote if you have them; if not, we check on arrival.
