Artarmon sits on the North Shore Line between St Leonards and Chatswood. Housing splits cleanly east and west of the train station: the east side is traditional North Shore — Artarmon Road, Broughton Road, Kenneth Street — a mix of Federation cottages, 1960s–80s walk-up apartments, and some newer low-rise. The west side has a commercial and light-industrial pocket running up to the Pacific Highway, with small warehouse-style businesses and occasional residential conversions.
Truck access is one of the easier parts of working in Artarmon. Residential streets are two-way with non-permit kerbside parking, and the light-industrial pocket on the west side has generous loading-zone access built for trucks. The one exception is the cafe and retail strip around Artarmon Road near the station — metered, busy midday, and better avoided for a load-out.
