What Sutherland actually involves.

Sutherland is the northern gateway to the Shire and the housing stock reflects it — predominantly 3- and 4-bedroom family homes on 500–700 sqm blocks, with a smaller apartment pocket within 500m of Sutherland Station. Unlike Cronulla or Hurstville, Sutherland doesn't have a high-rise tower cluster; the tallest residential buildings are 4–6 storeys around the station itself. Most moves are from settled family homes, which means garages, backyards, sheds, and full garages of accumulated stuff.

The Princes Highway is the main access corridor in and out of Sutherland. We can come via the highway directly from Arncliffe or cut through Kareela and Sylvania via the Taren Point Road alternate. Either way, 25 minutes is the realistic midweek off-peak drive time. Summer weekends or school-holiday periods add 20–40 minutes as Shire traffic thickens.

Streets in Sutherland are wide and mostly without parking restrictions — the truck usually parks directly outside the house, which is a major time saver compared to the Eastern Suburbs or CBD. The two constraints that do matter are (1) whether the driveway slopes steeply, which affects truck choice, and (2) whether any of the neighbouring streets are temporary-one-way during local events (Sutherland Entertainment Centre near Eton Street has occasional Saturday closures).
