Removalists in Hurstville — Hartmann Removals

Most Hurstville moves we quote are modern 1-bed and 2-bed apartments in the towers around Hurstville Station and Forest Road, $450–$1,000 + GST with two movers and a truck. Federation and mid-century family homes further from the station run $900–$1,800 + GST depending on bedroom count. Hurstville is 12 minutes from our Arncliffe base — close enough that 7am starts don't cost you drive-in time.

Moving in Hurstville

What Hurstville actually involves.

Hurstville has two distinct move profiles. The first is the high-rise residential precinct — the clusters of 10+ storey towers on Forest Road, Memorial Square, and around Hurstville Station, mostly built 2010–2020. These are strata-managed buildings with service lifts, formal move-in bookings, and building-manager sign-offs. The second is the older family-home belt north and south of the station: Federation cottages, 1950s–60s brick homes, and some 1970s split-level houses on streets like Pearl, Llewellyn, and Gloucester. Different kit, different timing, different constraints.

The Westfield Hurstville carpark and kerb restrictions dominate the area around Forest Road and Park Road during retail hours. Weekends the congestion is continuous from about 9:30am onwards. Our scheduling advice for any move within 500m of Westfield: 7am weekday start, or weekend before 9am. We're 12 minutes away in Arncliffe so the early start doesn't add travel time on our side.

Strata buildings in Hurstville have tightened move-in rules over the past 3–4 years. Most towers now require 10–14 days notice for the service-lift booking, a bond of $300–$500 held until the move is complete, and a certificate of currency from the removalist. We keep ours up-to-date and can send it directly to building management — just tell us who to email.

Before you book

What to tell us when you call.

The quicker we know these, the tighter the hours range on your quote.

01

Tell us the building name if you are in a tower

Hurstville has several 2010s–2020s residential towers, each with its own loading-dock rules. Naming the building lets us look up our notes or call the manager in advance instead of rediscovering the process on the day.

02

Book the strata lift early

Most Hurstville towers want 10–14 days notice for a service-lift booking. Book as soon as you have a settlement or end-of-lease date, not once you have found a removalist.

03

Avoid weekends within 500m of Westfield

Park Road, Forest Road, and Cross Street become unworkable for truck access from mid-morning onwards on Saturday. Weekday start is always cheaper in this precinct.

04

Family homes — flag the garage

Hurstville family homes often have single-car driveways with tight entry angles. We send a truck sized to the access — tell us whether the garage door opens straight off the street or you turn into it off a shared drive, and we'll match the vehicle.

Hurstville FAQ

Hurstville removalist FAQs.

How much does a Hurstville move cost?

Studio / 1-bed apartments typically $450–$750 + GST. 2-bed apartments $750–$1,100 + GST. 3-bed homes $1,200–$1,600 + GST. 4-bed family homes $1,800–$2,600 + GST. Tower moves with short lift windows run at the higher end of the bracket.

Do Hurstville towers need a certificate of currency?

Yes, almost every Hurstville tower built since 2015 asks for one. We carry $20M public liability plus goods-in-transit insurance and send the certificate to building management directly — 24 hours notice is enough.

How long should I book the strata lift for?

Ask for 3 hours minimum for a 2-bed apartment move, 4 hours for a 3-bed. If the building will only give you 2 hours, we recommend three movers to fit the load-out inside the window.

Do you move from Hurstville to the CBD?

Regularly — about 30–40 minutes via King Georges Road + M5 outside peak, 60+ during AM/PM peak. 7am start is the reliable option for any 2-bed+ cross-town move.

Which Hurstville streets are hardest for truck access?

Park Road, Forest Road, and Cross Street near the Westfield are the tightest during retail hours. Gloucester and Llewellyn are quieter. If your address is in the central Hurstville grid we will almost always suggest an early start.

Can you fit two moves in a day in Hurstville?

Yes for studios and 1-beds — we sometimes run a 7am Hurstville studio then a 12:30pm second job. For 2-bed+ the same-crew-same-day scheduling is tighter; ask on the quote and we will tell you what slot is realistic.
